Stress echocardiography significantly increases sensitivity compared to conventional exercise stress testing. This is especially true for athletes as the electrodes tend to become detached in sweat and vigorous muscle movement creates numerous artefacts that make it difficult to read the electrocardiogram.

With this test we can rule out the possibility of coronary artery disease without the need for radiation or invasive or burdensome tests.
